Destination Management Organizations

Destination Managemnt Organizations (DMOs)  contribute to the leadership role in Provincial tourism development through active participation in the Tourism Board, the partnership  between relevant  Provincial and Federal Government departments and industry, represented by both  the industry association, Hospitality Newfoundland & Labrador (HNL) and other DMOs. The five DMOs represent regions thorughout the province and are comprised of a voluntary board of directors who facilitate economic development through tourism initiatives. The mission of this partnership is  the achievement of ‘Uncommon Potential’, the Provincial vision for tourism, the primary objective of which is the doubling of  Tourism revenues by 2020. Through this involvement, industry, represented by the WDMO, has the  opportunity for defining  development  and marketing  priorities and influencing  the direction of tourism investment.
